This one time
I was surfing
through the social media
and then my gentle fingers
scrolled my inbox
all names were painting
colourful reveries
suddenly a text popped up
saying "hi, wassup"
a name , an old friend
to be treasured like
an antique piece
soon fresh was the past,
the unending chats
the shares, the online games
the binge on the burgers
the laughter,the lunch walks
I was about to reply
but next text of
"I need a new job"
and "that one document"
washed out everything
Smartest phone beeped
"you are HR professional,
you are a 'network'
not to be befriended
just to be "utilised"
I smiled and replied
"surely, can help".
